What Is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice that teaches that everything is alive, connected, and always changing. It emphasizes the importance of the placement of objects in your surroundings to enhance energy flow, harmony, balance, health, relationships, and prosperity in your life. It is a theory based on the scientific value of "energy" in objects, people, and intentions.

It means that everything you wear, observe and perform has power and grace to it. It means that your actions and intentions affect the environment in which you work and live. It means that you can positively affect the quality of your life and work experience. When a residence or business is blocked by clutter, emotional residue, in-completion, or actual furniture placement, less than excellent quality of life is experienced. By placing specific enhancements in a diagnostic manner, energy is generated to nurture success on every level. A lifting of the life force, which we call "Chi," brings in a flow of positive energy, which affects inhabitants physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

It is my intention to create an environment that supports you in your work so that you can be clear, calm, and positive with an ability to embrace change. As a graduate of the Western School of Feng Shui, I practice Essential Feng Shui. This is derived from the traditional form of School Feng Shui that uses the placement of natural and man-made forms such as land, water, streets, houses, or furniture to assess space. However, while Essential Feng Shui fully honors the essence of traditional Form School, it focuses on its many practical applications in our western culture and respects and incorporates individual choices in the application of the theory.

I work uniquely with you to create your own personal space based on your individual needs, preferences, and intentions. I offer simple, practical, and effective suggestions that can be implemented immediately. One of the tools used for understanding the energy patterns in your home or office is the Bagua Map. This helps you see what parts of your environment effect which areas in your life. It enables you to learn what parts of your home to adjust in order to change your life. Also, incorporating the Chi flow, which is the inner energy flow that pulses through all living things, helps you get in touch with your own sense of how you physically and emotionally feel. This is very important for an individual's growth, development and success.

For a residence, that might translate into an environment where you can relax and rejuvenate in an environment that is inviting and warm, for a space where you can be creative and joyful. For a home office, that may translate into a space where you can focus on your work and be productive or a space where you can be most effective. Your home is a basic expression of your life.
